Why We Need to Stop Negative Competition and How to Stop it

We tend to always compare ourselves with other people. We compare our success with other’s success, we compare our own beauty with other’s beauty, we compare our own intelligent with other’s intelligent and many other comparisons. It’s like becoming a habit to people nowadays. We never appreciate for what we have. We even don’t realize our own success, our own accomplishment. We know that we really need to work hard to get what we want, but still complaining on ourselves (even once when we succeed), instead of trying to improve ourselves.

“It doesn’t matter what others are doing, it matters what you are doing”

So, why we need to stop this such negative competition?

When we always compare ourselves with other people out there, we are not believing in ourselves, actually. Yes, it’s undeniable. We will think that we are not capable in doing something. We’re not too strong to face something. We’re not courage enough to handle our own life path. This way of thinking may destroy our self-esteem in the way we could never know and it’s not good for your mental health at the same time. It can make you worse.

It’s true when you’re always comparing yourself with others. We always think on them. We always think of their success. Can’t we just think ‘how about my success?”, “how I can be like her?”? But, this is the truth about us. We always focus more on other people, despite ourselves.

Here we can know that, we lack of self-love when we’re doing negative competition. Thus, we need to stop it. How?
The only way we can stop from keep on thinking about people’s success is by acknowledging our very own success. Yes, you need to know it, even we see it as a small accomplishment. At least there is an accomplishment than nothing, right? You should be proud when you managed to get ‘B’ in your latest examination than a ‘D’ on your previous exam. Hello, it’s still your accomplishment, it’s still your success, it’s still your victory. You managed to improve yourself. Congrats for that. You should be proud of you. You don’t need people out there to be proud of you. How can you make other people be proud of you if you don’t proud of your own self? Makes sense, huh.

You need to know that everyone is not perfect on this earth. You never know they also have their difficult times. You don’t know how struggle they were to achieve what they have today. Their life journey is not easy as we see. All those successful people never let us know their difficult time because they don’t want to spread the negative vibes to others. What they want is to give motivation, to give inspiration to us. Supposedly, we take it in a positive way, not negative like this negative competition.

We can keep a gratitude journal to boost our confident level when we’re down. List down all your accomplishment in your journal. You can open it and read all your success when everytime you’re down. It’s normal for a human being to not be static in their life. Everyone has their ups and downs. Sometimes we’re at the top, but sometimes we’re at the bottom. We need to stand up back when we were falling. It can boost our mood. We can be happy and grateful after reading all our success that we achieved before and automatically we may think positively and rationally to improve ourselves and be back again at the top.

In the end, it’s all about mindset. The way we think that determine our success. We cannot be succeeded if we keep thinking on the wrong way. Sometimes other accomplishment can motivate us and inspire us to gain success too, but you need to change the way you think first. You cannot accept it in the negative way. View their success on the positive side and your life will change. I assure that.
